Portrait Of Horace and Pip

This is Horace and Pip, two gorgeous bengal cats. Sadly the folks who commissioned this painting has lost Horace and they wanted a painting of Horace and Pip together to hang in pride of place in their home. They needed a large piece for the space they had in mind. This is a 50x40 inch contemporary painting on acrylic glass. It had a hidden hanging system on the back, so once it’s hung on the wall it seems to float there without a frame, making for a very modern statement piece.

This is a digital painting, printed and mounted onto a sheet of aluminium dibond and covered with acrylic glass. Acrylic glass is very clear and much lighter than real glass for pieces of this size. Making it easier to hang. The glass gives the painting a real depth and makes the colours sing. It’s quite hard to show that in photos.

 

The painting is first painted digitally and then printed onto archival fine art paper and then mounted on to acrylic glass by a specialist framer.
