6x6″ oil painting on board

This is Chase mid yawn. Did you know cats tongues have small, curved, flexible spines called papillae? They use these like a super comb to clean their fur. That's why their tongues have that sandpaper feel when they lick you. This is one of my catitude paintings. I loved trying to capture all those whiskers!

Sleepy Chase

Chase was painted as part of the cattitude project. Here he is yawning and showing off his teeth and fluffy cheeks which Denise has captured purrfectly. The painting is even more beautiful in person and has such lovely textures. Thank you for another beautiful painting Denise. I look forward to having them both up in our new home.
